Who am I?

Hello! I'm here to take your gardening experience to a whole new level! I want to show you the immense potential that lies within you garden So, let's plant some seeds of inspiration and get your garden growing!

Who Am I?

thegirlwhostaresatplants

🌸 Hi! I’m JT 👋🏻
🍀 Let me show YOU all the things you can do to TRANSFORM your LIFE and your GARDEN

You might not know this! 🌿 THE ONE PLANT RULE: You might not know this! 🌿 THE ONE PLANT RULE: Why Repetition Beats Variety in Garden Design

Here’s a tip most gardeners never get told:
Stop planting “one of everything.” Start planting lots of the same thing.

Want your garden to look professionally designed—even if you’re just winging it?
Pick one striking plant—and repeat it. Again. And again. And again.

Why it works:
✅ Creates bold, dramatic visual impact
✅ Makes small spaces look cohesive
✅ Easy to care for (no juggling 27 plant needs)
✅ Looks intentional, not chaotic

Try it with plants like:
– Lavender
– Salvia
– Hakonechloa (Japanese forest grass)
– Alliums
– Heuchera
– Nepeta

Designers do this. Nature does this. You should too.
It’s less chaos, more wow.

🌿 A Gardening Trick I’ll bet you didn’t kno 🌿 A Gardening Trick I’ll bet you didn’t know! Use Drought-Loving Perennials to Save Water in Pots

If you’re planting trees or shrubs in containers, here’s a smart, often overlooked tip:
Underplant with drought-tolerant perennials like Erigeron to help conserve moisture.

These low-growing plants create a living mulch that shades the soil, reduces evaporation, and keeps the root zone cooler—without competing for water.

Erigeron thrives in dry conditions, attracts pollinators, and adds a soft, natural look to container displays—all while helping your main plant stay hydrated longer.

This simple technique is perfect for:
	•	Container gardening in hot weather
	•	Low-maintenance planting schemes
	•	Maximizing water retention naturally

Think of it as working with your plants, not against them.#thegirlwhostaresatplants #gardening #gardeningtips #flowers #erigeron #pots #containergardening
🚨 WEDDING FLOWER DISASTER (with a Chelsea Flowe 🚨 WEDDING FLOWER DISASTER (with a Chelsea Flower Show twist) 🚨
I thought I was being clever growing my wedding roses from bare roots. Romantic, budget-friendly, personal. What could go wrong?

Answer: everything.
By May, they were still sulking in the soil — zero blooms, just leaves and heartbreak. With my August wedding on the horizon, I had to make a decision… fast.

So I did what any flower-obsessed bride would do: I went to Chelsea Flower Show, bought show-stopping roses in full bloom, and planted them in pots like it was the plan all along. 💅🌹THANK YOU @peterbealesroses

Lesson learned?
Bare root roses don’t always care about your wedding timeline — and the backup plan might just end up even better.

Stick around if you want real gardening without the fluff. It’s not always pretty… but it’s always honest 🌿

✂️ Everyone says deadhead for more blooms—bu ✂️ Everyone says deadhead for more blooms—but not EVERYTHING needs a trim.
🌸 Let some flowers go to seed. Bees, birds, and beneficial insects will THANK YOU. Nature doesn’t deadhead, and it’s doing just fine. PLUS you will be able to use the seeds to grow more flowers FOR FREE!!

Absolutely obsessed with the Chelsea Flower Show t Absolutely obsessed with the Chelsea Flower Show this year! 🌸🔥
From fabulous garden designs to wild plant inspiration, the show this year was every gardener’s dream come true. The creativity? Next level. The vibes? Immaculate.

🌿 If you’re into gardening, flowers, or outdoor design — this is THE show to watch.
