Hi! My name is JT 👋🏻 Thank you so much for visiting my blog. My family have given me the moniker of ‘The Girl Who Stares At Plants’ because I am often found picturing what my garden will look like whilst stood in the middle of a flower bed!
So who am I anyway?
Hello! Let me introduce myself. I am a passionate organic gardening amateur. Gardening is my hobby and frankly keeps me sane! I have no formal training in horticulture, DIY, garden design or writing for that matter. But, when I am not doing my day job, I spend an inordinate amount of time researching, learning and attempting to create the garden of my dreams.
Have I always had green fingers?
I wasn’t always interested gardening. In fact, as a child, I remember being dragged around garden centres with my mother and grandmother and it was not a happy experience! 🥴 Though in recent years, I found the garden through my love of food. Ironically, garden centres are now my little slice of heaven 🥰. Gardening has morphed into an addiction that I couldn’t give up even if I wanted to.
So, why am I doing this?
Over the years, I have taken so much knowledge and inspiration from others, I would like to try and give something back. I have therefore attempted to create something that is informative🤞🏼and enjoyable to read.
What’s this all about anyway?
Here, you will find a plethora of subjects which are related in some way to gardening. From garden design and my attempts at DIY 😝, to my various levels of success at growing and planting flowers and vegetables. From sharing my favourite recipes to reviewing my favourite gardening book, magazines and websites.
What can possibly go wrong?
Er….these two. I have two rather large dogs, Storm and Trooper. Seen in all their glory below. But do not be fooled!
A lot of my efforts in the garden are thwarted by these two, they are my little ‘unhelpers’! But that’s ok, because it’s trying that is important right? They have their own instagram account called Botanical Tails and if you want to see what they get up to, just click here.
Anyway, I would really love to try and pay forward some of the sheer peace and joy I get from my gardening exploits, so please find yourselves very welcome.
