Hello! This is a short(ish) post to introduce you to my blooming big passion for flowers and to tell you why I really love their wonderful world.
Of course it is because flowers are so pretty. And it’s definitely because they make me smile. It also helps that generally blooms are easy to get blooming! But the main reason I love flowers so much is because of the amount of things you can use them for. Once you have grown them, they will reward you time and time again, all for free!

Introducing my own wonderful world of flowers!
Years ago, before I even thought of starting this blog, my other half Nick started an Instagram account to show off all the plants I grow. By this I mean all the flowers I grow in my garden. I grow the flowers, and he takes pictures of them. And to be fair, he does show them off very well. But then I am bias!
I didn’t always grow flowers you see. Back in the early gardening days I was more interested in veg. But when Nick started taking photos, he also started nagging for more flowers. Well not wanting to disappoint, I began growing more and more blooms and now, he gets a say in what I grow based on how photographic they are!
The account is called Jodie’s garden, and you can follow it from this page. I must admit, I have been a bit lax over the years and haven’t named the flowers in the pictures. I obviously regret that now as it could have helped you all out. And me as well, as frankly, I don’t remember most of the names 🙈🙄. For the future, I promise I will make sure I label them so you can seek them out and grow them yourself!
In the meantime, if you do find a bloom in my wonderful world of flowers that you would like to grow yourself, then comment on the post and I will do my best to let you know what it is! Can’t promise though….😂.
Sow & Grow is easier than you think
The best thing about growing your own flowers, is just how easy it is. Don’t get me wrong, like dogs (or kids) some blooms can be a bit needy. But nature has evolved to ensure that flower species grow and bloom without any human intervention at all. So, all we have to do is replicate that. Your recipe for success is a handful of soil, a sprinkling of water and a nice dose of sunlight. Then BOOM 💥 you have your 🌸 blooms! If you want to see how to do it in a bit more detail than that, then follow me on Instagram below and I will show you in easy steps, how to sow & grow some flower seeds.
Just to remind you, if you ever wanted to design your own garden but don’t know where to start – I can help! I have written a series of posts with aim of making it easy for you to design your own garden. If you would like to read them, they are titled easy garden design secrets and you can read them here.
